Matt Damon accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from Jimmy Kimmel and Ben Affleck, and even took the opportunity to get drenched for not one, but two great causes. And the Oscar winner even added a little swirl to his challenge—by dumping toilet water over his head.

Now, before you go "eww," Damon explains that he chose to use water from the commode to represent the 800 million people worldwide who don't have access to clean water. The "Monuments Men" star is a co-founder of Water.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe water and sanitation to communities that lack access.

"For those of you, like my wife, who think this is really disgusting, keep in mind that the water in toilets in the West is actually cleaner than the water that most people in the developing world have access to,” Damon says. "So, as disgusting as this may seem, hopefully it will highlight the fact that this is a big problem and together we can do something about it."

The actor later challenged George Clooney, U2's Bono, and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to join the campaign next. Watch Damon soak himself in icy toilet water below.
