It's an undeniable fact that the late Robin Williams is a household name. But before his career exploded, the comedian was just a rising star with a penchant for making people laugh.

During his first appearance on "The Tonight Show," a young Williams got a little nervous during filming, but channeled his energy to entertain the god of talk shows, Johnny Carson, and his audience.

In the clip, Williams acts like the energizer bunny who's had one too many coffees before the show. He's noticably nervous—well, who wouldn't be—but his natural comedic skills take hold, making his appearance late night perfection.
