When she was young, Misty Copeland was told that she would never be a ballerina. But it wasn't long before she proved everyone wrong.

The new ad for Under Armour tells the story of the American Ballet soloist, who against all odds became one of the most beloved dancers of recent years.

Copeland, who famously has an "atypical" body type and began dancing at 13, which is practically unheard of in the ballet world, transformed from a disadvantaged kid with a dream into a world-renowned star.

The video begins with a composite letter that represents all the rejections she received when she was young. It stated:

Dear Candidate, Thank you for your application to our ballet academy. Unfortunately you have not been accepted. You lack the right feet, Achilles tendons, turnout, torso length, and bust. You have the wrong body for ballet, and at 13, you are too old to be considered.

Watching the talented ballerina dance, it's easy to tell that all her critics were completely off the mark.

Under Armour explained it the best. "Misty Copeland's destiny was not to be a ballerina. But will trumps fate."
