Seems like Director Coulson and the rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. gang are going to be getting a lot of company in Season 2. Ahead of the recent casting announcements that included Lucy Lawless, Daniel Whitehall, Nick Blood, and Reed Diamond, Deadline announced today that actor Simon Kassianides will be joining the series.

Though Kassianides' role is still a bit vague in terms of whether he's a good guy or a bad guy, the actor will have a "major recurring role" as Bakshi, a guy who's not afraid to do get his hands dirty. Kassianides is best known for "Quantum of Solace" and will next be seen in the film "Desert Dancer."

The cast recently attended San Diego Comic-Con, where they met fans and teased new characters, romances, and potential storylines for next season.

The second season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." premieres on September 23 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
