Menswear Dog: Meet the Hot New Fashion ModelSuit Up
Fashion has gone to the dogs—and it’s one of the best things to ever happen to the internet.
Watch out, Tyson Beckford. We've seen your competition, and he is mighty fierce.
The world of male modeling has a charming new mug, and his name is Bodhi, a.k.a. Menswear Dog. Yes, he's a furry pooch. Yes, he wears designer suits. And yes, we cannot get enough.
Menswear Dog's Tumblr describes Bodhi as a four-year-old Shibu Inu living in New York City “with a penchant for all things style.” According to the Mail Online, owners Dave Fung and Yena Kim started the popular canine couture blog after dressing Bodhi up one lazy Saturday afternoon and taking photos of him. They posted the silly snaps on Facebook as a gag—but the overwhelmingly positive response they received told the couple they’d stumbled upon something very special. The next day, Menswear Dog was born. The day after that, the blog was featured on GQ. Talk about going viral!
Since that fateful first post, the fashion hound’s devoted fan base has grown in droves. The blog’s regularly updated Instagram account has more than 140,000 followers, and counting. Menswear Dog has also done collaborations with several designers, including Salvatore Ferragamo, Coach, Todd Snyder, and ASOS, to name a few. Fung and Kim are planning to unleash their own line of menswear-inspired fashion for dogs as well.
Bodhi’s sported everything from cable-knit sweaters and newsboy caps to leather jackets and his signature suits. But the truth is, says Kim, “He likes to wear clothes that will get him the most attention and peanut butter. He knows he can pull off anything so he's not all that concerned.”
A conventional six-foot male model, he is not. But what Bodhi lacks in height, he makes up for in loads of adorableness. If you still don’t believe us, check out some of our favorite Menswear Dog looks for yourself below.
