Tom Hardy's newest film "Child 44" finally gets a release date.

Here's some big news, cinephiles: Tom Hardy's much-anticipated historical thriller "Child 44" officially debuts on April 17, 2015.

Set in Stalin-era Russia, the film follows a senior member of the Soviet secret police (Hardy) who, while on a mission to solve a string of murders, unjustly finds himself under the watchful eye of the law and ultimately framed for treason. 

"Child 44," which is directed by Daniel Espinosa, also stars Gary Oldman, Joel Kinnaman, Noomi Rapace, Jason Clarke, Paddy Considine, and Dev Patel. The film is based on Richard Price's 2008 novel by the same name.
