Stars Share Their Favorite Beauty Products for FallBy Kim Holmes
Update your look with these celebrity-approved beauty picks.
Now that our summer tans have faded and our bikinis have been shoved into the far reaches of our closet, it’s time to think about updating our look for fall. This doesn’t just mean stocking up on cozy knits and scarves; our beauty routines could use a little back-to-school shopping, too. Here are a few products that the stars can’t seem to get enough of this season.
1. Cream Blush
For a flushed, just-came-in-out-of-the-cold fall look, ditch your summer bronzer and opt for a soft pink blush instead. As the weather gets cooler, a cream blush will keep your cheeks radiant without drying out your skin. Molly Sims is partial to Bobbi Brown’s Pot Rouge, which comes in 10 shades that will flatter a range of skin tones.
How to Use: After moisturizing, dot blush on apples of your cheeks and blend with fingertips or beauty blender for a natural flush. As an added bonus, it also doubles as a subtle lip color.

2. Classic Red Nails
Nail trends come and go, but nothing will top a classic red nail. This fall, go for either a vampy look with blood red polish, or keep things bright with a candy apple red. Swipe on a matte top coat for an ultra-trendy look. Jessica Biel is seeing red with this fun selection of colors from Deborah Lippman.
How to Use: After applying a base coat, apply two coats of red nail polish. Seal with a clear top coat for a lasting finish.

3. All-in-One Makeup Sets
Buying an all-in-one makeup set takes the guesswork out of getting ready in the morning. With a palate of colors to choose from, you’ll never run out of inspiration. Jacqueline Laurita, of the Housewives of New Jersey, loves this fall-friendly set from TOO FACED. The understated matte eye shadow colors are perfect for a natural smoky eye.
How to Use: After setting the stage with an eye shadow primer, apply a light shade from crease to brow bone. Blend a darker shade into crease and lid for a smoky look. Finish with eyeliner and mascara (don’t forget to curl your lashes first!).

4. CC Cream
CC Cream has replaced BB Cream as this season’s go-to product for those of us looking to streamline our beauty routine. These all-in-one super products contain SPF, moisturizer, active skin care ingredients, and a sheer color-correcting tint for daytime coverage. We spotted Stila’s CC Cream in Debra Messing’s latest beauty haul.
How to Use: Apply cream to clean skin, using fingertips to blend.

5. DIY Nail Art
Getting trendy nail art on the regular can burn a hole in your wallet. Instead, DIY your nails at home with a nail art set. Coco Rocha recently played around with a chalkboard manicure set from Ciate. With two shades of polish and four different colored “chalk” pens to choose from, you can let your inner artist go wild.
How to Use: Apply a clear base coat before slicking on two coats of matte chalkboard color. Wait for it to dry, then decorate nails however you please with the included “chalk” pens.

6. Moisturizing Lip Balm
Keep painful, chapped lips at bay with an ultra-moisturizing lip balm this fall and winter. Molly Sims swears by the Sugar balm by Fresh. Not only does it come in a variety of flattering tints, but it also contains SPF to protect your lips from sun damage year-round.
How to Use: Swipe tube onto lips whenever they need a moisture boost.
