With Prince George's first birthday rapidly approaching, Vanity Fair decided to celebrate the occasion by giving the adorable royal his first glossy cover story

The August cover shows the prince posing with his mom and dad, Kate Middleton and Prince William. The photo gives a lovely, rare glimpse into the young family's everyday life. The story, reported by Vanity Fair contributor Katie Nicholl, reflects this, as it delves into the story of the infant's first year.

One highlight of the story that we've learned so far is that, through it all, the couple wants their beloved son to have an average childhood. The magazine explained:

Nicholl reports that William and Kate want George to enjoy a normal upbringing. They take George to playdates at the homes of friends, among them Kate’s old Marlborough friend Alice St. John Webster, who has a baby several months older than George.

Vanity Fair also speculates on the possibility of George getting a sibling in the near future—no official word of course, but we all would love that!
