Back when she was 34 years old, international superstar Madonna sat down with a reporter to talk about ageism. While her words were important then, they have never seemed more profound as they do now.

Unfortunately, Madonna's battle with ageism keeps getting more intense. Now that she is in her 50s, the award-winning singer constantly deals with prejudiced comments, which is an unfair part of how we view pop culture.

However, when you listen to the interview, you can tell that while this phenomenon is hurtful, Madonna knows that she will be just as confident when she is 100 years old. When talking about how people expect her to stop acting sexy when she gets older, she wisely states, "Is there a rule? What are you supposed to do? Just die when you are 40? That's basically what everyone wants people to do. It's stupid."

Over the years, Madonna has definitely practiced what she preached and we are super proud of her. We hope that all women will soon feel the same way.
