Ariana Grande dropped some major news on MTV yesterday.

While appearing on “Total Ariana Live,” a fun reboot of “Total Request Live” that was all about Ariana having a good time with her fans, the 21-year-old singer announced that she will perform her new single “Break Free” on the 2014 “MTV Video Music Awards” when the show is broadcast live from The Forum in Los Angeles on August 24.

As a post on the MTV News blog points out, the VMA mainstage performance will mark a graduation of sorts for Ariana, who sang a medley of songs from her debut album “Yours Truly” at the 2013 pre-VMA show.

FYI: “Break Free” is the first single from Ariana’s upcoming sophomore album “My Everything,” which will go on sale right after the VMAs air.

The single is already selling big on iTunes.

Ariana isn’t the only member of the Grande family in the limelight these days. Her brother Frankie Grande, a performer in his own right who appeared on Broadway in the show “Mamma Mia,” is competing for a half-million dollar prize on the CBS reality show “Big Brother” this summer. So far, he hasn’t told any of his castmates about his famous sister.

Ariana recently posted this video of her brother dancing—like a maniac!—to “Break Free” in the front seat of a car.

Frankie is clearly as big of a fan of his sister’s music as we are.
