Seth Green: Clare and I Broke the Pont des Arts in Paris

bad romance

Seth Green and Clare Grant attached a lock to the Pont des Arts in Paris—right before a part of it collapsed.

Seth Green has a heavy confession to make: It was he and Clare Grant who added the lock that broke the Pont des Arts bridge in Paris.

The Pont des Arts is a pedestrian bridge that crosses the River Seine in Paris. For years, tourists have declared their love by attaching padlocks with their initials or names on them to the bridge's rails before throwing the key into the Seine.

The foot bridge was evacuated this weekend after a portion of the railing collapsed due to the weight of the padlocks, and protestors have since formed a "No Love Locks" campaign to discourage the popular practice.

Yolanthe and husband Wesley Sneijder attached their own lock last year, and from the amount of locks shown in this pic, we're not surprised the bridge is experiencing some structural issues:

While we appreciate Seth taking responsibility for the unfortunate occurence, we can't imagine that his and Clare's lock was the straw that broke the...bridge's back.

Either way, we know that their love is strong enough to withstand this potentially bad omen. We just hope that none of the thousands of other couples are particularly superstitious.
