We all know that Jane Fonda is a Hollywood legend, and now the American Film Institute is making it official.

Today on WhoSay, Eva Longoria shared photos of herself along with some of Hollywoods other multitalented leading ladies paying tribute to Jane Fonda. The Oscar, Emmy, and Golden Globe Award-winning actress was honored at the 42nd AFI Lifetime Achievement Award gala in L.A. Thursday night.

Eva caught up with Cameron Diaz, fellow "Desperate Housewives" actress Felicity Huffman, and actress and philanthropist Melanie Griffith, as they celebrated the work of Jane's impressive 53-year career.

The AFI Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes "extraordinary talent and courage in the field of acting and producing" and is one of the most prestigous awards an actor or actress can receive.

According to Sir Howard Stringer, the Chair of the AFI's Board of Trustees, "Jane Fonda is American film royalty. A bright light first introduced to the world as the daughter of Henry Fonda, the world watched as she found her own voice and forged her own path as an actor and a cultural icon."

Just last year, Jane received her much-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame:

The tribute special for Jane Fonda's AFI Lifetime Achievement Award will air on TNT on June 14.

Jane Fonda is the eighth woman to receive the honor in the award's 42 years. Previous AFI honorees include Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Morgan Freeman, George Lucas, and Steven Spielberg.

Congratulations, Jane!
