Lupita Nyong’o and Brad Pitt Reunite in “Americanah”

“12 Years a Slave” actress Lupita Nyong’o reunites with Brad Pitt to act in and produce “Americanah”—a reworking of the award-winning romantic novel.

Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o announced that she will produce and play the leading lady in “Americanah”—a film adaptation of the acclaimed novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

The fearless love story revolves around a young Nigerian couple who face many hardships after being forced to separate and emigrate to different countries. The novel was selected as one of the ten best books in 2013 by the New York Times Book Review and won a 2013 National Book Critics Circle Award.

For the film, Lupita, who was recently cast in the new “Star Wars” movie, reunites with Brad Pitt, whom she met while working on “12 Years A Slave.” He is set to co-produce “Americanah” with Lupita through his production company Plan B.
