7 Reasons Why Buzz Aldrin Is a Social Media Pioneer"buzz" feed
Buzz Aldrin already proved that he mastered the selfie before most of us were born. Let’s take a look at a few other social media trends he pioneered.
Astronaut Buzz Aldrin may be most famous for being the second man to walk on the moon, but he’s quickly earning a name for himself as a social media master. In April, he showed NASA who’s boss when they posted a space selfie to their Instagram account.
“@NASA I believe I get to claim the first EVA selfie from space during my Gemini 12 spacewalk orbiting Earth 17,000 mph,” Buzz declared. “Best. Selfie. Ever.”
It got us thinking: what other social media trends has the famed astronaut pioneered? The answer: more than you might expect. Check them out below.
1. The Humblebrag
“Oh, you know, I just splashed down after taking an historic trip to the moon that will forever rooted in history. NBD.”
Unlike the typical “candid laughs” you’ll find on Instagram these days, these heroes are definitely having a great time.
3. Foodie Pics
Step aside, food bloggers.
4. The “Healthie”
Buzz’s old-school workouts put today’s gym rats to shame.
5. The “Check Out My Ride” Pic
Showing off your new car? Buzz is showing off his new jet. That he knows how to fly. Boom.
6. The "Look Who I Bumped Into" Shot
Buzz with Mohammed Ali and Arnold Schwartzenegger
Buzz with Ann-Margret
Buzz with Sylvester Stallone
Buzz with Gina Lollobrigida
We could also argue that these Hollywood legends are even more excited to be meeting him.
7. Hand-on-Hip Pose
Like every photogenic fashionista and fashion blogger, Buzz knows how to look good for the camera (even Tyra advocates the pose for its slimming effect). He also has a pretty great smize, come to think of it.
