Man Sings "Let It Go" as 21 Disney/Pixar Characters
He just wanted a gift card, and now he's the newest viral sensation.
When 22-year-old Dallas Baptist University student Brian Hull recorded this version of Academy Award-winner Best Original Song "Let It Go," from Disney's animated hit "Frozen," he just wanted to win a $100 gift card. Instead, he ended up as the new viral sensation with over five million YouTube plays and counting.
"I saw there was a contest going on through Disney where I could record myself singing, "Let it Go," said Hull. "And if I won, I would win a $100 gift card to the Disney Store. So, I just got this idea in my head: 'What if I did the whole thing as Disney and Pixar characters?'" he added.
Hull's cover of "Let It Go" is not the first nor will it be the last. As the animated feature of the year, "Frozen" has thoroughly permeated popular culture. Right after the win for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards, performer Idina Menzel stopped by "the Tonight Show With Jimmy Kimmel" to perform this delightful version of "Let It Go." And on a lighter note, this traffic man channeled Disney's popular tune to forecast the weather conditions.
What's different about Hull's version? As he says on his YouTube page, "With so many covers of Let it Go coming out, people may forget the original Disney magic that this song has, so what better way to preserve that magic with other Disney and Pixar characters singing the song!" We agree!
