Nothing gets us in the mood for summer movie season like an action-packed blockbuster.

And this year is no exception, as the biggest film studios have lined up the premieres of the season's most anticipated blockbusters for the coming weeks. Fittingly, the previews offer a healthy dose of unbelievable superheroes, wild comedies, and iconic sequels that promise to satisfy even the most demanding fans. Here are seven highly anticipated films that will premiere this summer:

1. "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" 

Out April 4, Marvel Studios' sequel to "Captain America: The First Avenger" stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Samuel Jackson. The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.

2. "Neighbors" 

Starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, the Nicholas Stoller-directed comedy was screened on March 8 at SXSW and will hit theaters on May 9.  

3. "Transformers: Age of Extinction" 

Set to be released on June 27, Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz star in the sequel to "Transformers: Dark of the Moon"—the fourth installment of the "Transformers" film series.  

4. "Godzilla" 

The reboot of the "Godzilla" film franchise was directed by Gareth Edwards to retell the origin of the infamous monster in contemporary times. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, and Elizabeth Olsen star in the sci-fi film that will hit thearers May 16.

5. "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"

Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan, and Jamie Foxx star in Marc Webb's sequel to "The Amazing Spider-Man," which will be released on May 2.

6. "22 Jump Street" 

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill reprise their "21 Jump Street" roles in this action-comedy film directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (and produced by the actors themselves.) "22 Jump Street" hits theaters on June 13. 

7. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" 

Bryan Singer directs the seventh movie in the "X-Men" film series, starring Hugh Jackman, James McAvory, Michael Fassbender, Ellen Page, and Jennifer Lawrence. The movie will be released on May 23.   

BONUS: "Guardians of the Galaxy" 

Out August 1, the tenth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was written and directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper, among others.
