A young songwriter just won a once-in-a-lifetime chance: global pop superstar Ricky Martin will record the song he submitted as part of the official soundtrack for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Martin is visiting Brazil to film a promotional video for the FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in June in the South American country. The song of said music video, "Vida" ("Life"), is part of the official soundtrack for the Brazil 2014 mundial, along with Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, and Claudia Leitte's "We Are One," which is the World Cup's official anthem.

"Vida" was the winner of Sony's "Supersong" World Cup song contest. Written by Latin pop artist Elijah King, the song was produced by Salaam Remi, who has previously worked with Amy Winehouse, Nas, and "The Fugees." Martin, who also performed the official song of the 1998 FIFA World Cup, is expected to hit several of Rio de Janeiro's most iconic sites during filming of the video, including the Maracana Stadium where the final of the Brazil 2014 World Cup will be played.
