Pre-Order a McConaughey "Alright" Shirt Todayalright alright alright
The Oscar-winning actor's shirt will be available exclusively at Dillards.
Only one day after his epic Oscar win, Matthew McConaughey announced that he'll be releasing a line of T-shirts featuring his signature "alright, alright alright" catchphrase from his film debut in "Dazed and Confused" in 1993.
The catchphrase also made his way into the end of his touching Oscar speech on Sunday:
"So, to any of us, whatever those things are, whatever we look up to, whatever it is we look forward to and whoever it is we’re chasing—to that I say, 'alright, alright, alright.' And then I say, just keep livin’. Alright, alright, alright.”
The Texas-born actor has a good reason for his attachment to the Richard Linklater film, as he explained after the awards ceremony.
"1992 I was one week into working on my first job, 'Dazed and Confused,' my father moved on [passed] six days into working on my job," he said. "Now in hindsight, I've looked back, he got to be alive for me doing the one thing that was not my fad, hobby or job. We didn't know it then, but it turned out to be my career … he came to my mind tonight in speaking about him."
Pretty touching stuff. If you want to snag one of Matthew's "Alright" tees before everyone else on the internet does, pre-order yours today at Dillards.
Best of all—a portion of every sale will support Matthew's Just Keep Livin' Foundation, which implements after-school fitness and wellness programs in innercity high schools.
We think that's a little more than "alright."
