Throw a Wolfgang Puck-Inspired Oscars Party
Feast like a celeb this Sunday with bite-sized recipes inspired by the dishes Wolfgang Puck will serve at the Oscars after party.
This Sunday, after all the awards are handed out and dreams are made (or broken), celebrities will finally be able to focus on what's really important: partying it up at the Governor's Ball.
Celebrity Chef Wolfgang Puck will be catering the official Oscars after party for his 20th year in a row. Clearly, he knows what the stars like to nibble on. This year, he put together an award-winning feast of elegant bites comfort food favorites for meat eaters and vegetarians alike.
You can view some of Wolfgang's after party recipes here, but if you want to recreate a similar feast for an Oscars get-together, we've found simpler variations of his gourmet treats that you can easily recreate in your home kitchen. Take a look below.
The version Wolfgang plans to serve on Sunday will be cut out in the shape of an Oscar and topped with a healthy dollop of caviar. We think this straightforward recipe is just as pretty (and much cheaper).
A touch of wasabi in the guacamole gives these Asian-inspired tacos a nice kick.
Who can say no to mac and cheese?
The fried sage leaf on top adds a nice finishing touch. We think Wolfgang would approve.
Although all this comfort food definitely won't be comfortable for startlets in form-fitting gowns, they're perfect for an at-home gathering.
A baked potato bar with all the fixings would make a great DIY entree for an Oscar party.
Wolfgang didn't forget vegan and vegetarian celebs: "Vegan items include taro root tacos with avocado and white bean quinoa cakes with roasted pepper, while vegetarians can opt for the aged cheddar grilled cheese or the pasta with roasted chestnut and truffles."
What's a party without desserts? We think this Texas sheet cake is totally appropriate for this year's Oscars ("Dallas Buyer's Club," anyone?).
If you have a little more time on your hands (and an artistic touch), these tuxedo-clad cake pops are pretty darn cute.
And of course, you'll have to serve a signature cocktail. This one is apparently a favorite of Brad Pitt, Angeline Jolie, and Oprah.
You've still got plenty of time to prepare: The Oscars will air on Sunday, March 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT on ABC.
