Andrew Osagie is the UK’s No.1 800m runner, the World Indoor Championships bronze medalist and an Olympic 800m finalist. Originally from Harlow town in Essex, a long way from the international athletics circuit, he currently lives and trains in Teddington with help from the St. Mary’s College setup.

Andrew took part in almost all available sports form a young age including karate which he started at 6 years old until 18 years old and football which he continued through to University. As an athlete he joined the local athletics club at 15 years old under the guidance of Nathaniel Fisher and started training properly when he joined his current coach Craig Winrow in January 2007.

Success has come rapidly since then despite his early career being plagued with injury. Titles at the British University Championships, National Age Group Championships, Senior National Indoor and Outdoor Championships make up an impressive domestic CV. Internationally he has almost a full resume of all major international events.

Andrew’s most notable performances to date include a bronze medal in the 800m in the 2012 IAAF World Indoor T&F Championships, a place in the final and an excellent personal best of 1:43.77 in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. In 2011 he placed 4th in the European Indoor T&F Championships and was a semi-finalist in the 2011 IAAF World T&F Championships in Daegu.
