January 3, 2012"Acceptance is Futile"
I have a new essay available in the current* edition of Script Magazine.
Several years ago, my writing partner and I wrote a quaint, little videogame known as CALL OF DUTY 2: BIG RED ONE. It turns out, it was quite a hit and, before we knew it, our script had been nominated for the game developer's equivalent of the Oscar. I made the trek to Las Vegas for the award ceremony, determined -quite simply- not to embarrass myself. Of course, if I'd succeeded, there wouldn't be much of a story, would there? Check it out!

*Current and final edition? Yes, that's right... Final Draft announced in December that this would be the final issue of Script Magazine - as the property had been purchased by F&W. I was saddened by this news. For five-plus years, I have been a Senior Writer for the magazine and I hope to see it re-emerge from this transition. In fact, it was my 2006 essay on videogame writing for CALL OF DUTY 2 that introduced me to the wonderful editors of Script. Should the magazine evaporate entirely, I will try to continue writing these essays, should people be interested.
