Katie Couric Snapshot
Katie Couric (@katiecouric) is an award-winning journalist and TV personality, well-known cancer advocate, and New York Times best-selling author The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons From Extraordinary Lives.

Couric joined the Disney/ABC Television Group in Summer 2011 and serves as special correspondent for ABC News. She is the host of the new syndicated daytime talk show, Katie.

In addition to her journalism work, Katie has been an outspoken advocate for cancer research, specifically colon cancer, founding the National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (NCCRA) after losing her husband, Jay Monahan to the disease. She has established the Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health at the New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City in 2004, and co-hosted the network-wide special: "Stand Up 2 Cancer" to on September 5, 2008. Before joining ABC News, Katie was the first female solo anchor of an evening newscast at CBS Evening News, after a 15-year stint as co-anchor of NBC's successful Today Show.

Katie lives in New York City with her two daughters.
