April 26, 2012Giants selected Virginia Tech RB David Wilson. Wilson was a two-sport star at Virginia Tech. He was the 2011 ACC Player of the Year and a second team All-America selection by AP after rushing for a school-record 1,709 yards. He picked up All-America honors last spring in the triple jump by placing sixth at the NCAA outdoor track and field championships. He's the first Tech football player to earn All-America honors in both football and track.
Wilson is a bit eccentric. He drives a 1978 orange Thunderbird with Ostrich leather-covered seats. He wore a shirt and tie to class every day. He did 10 consecutive back-flips from the standing position at the 2010 media day – that topped his 2009 media day tally of eight.
